It is the state food laboratory, works under the provisions of FSS Act 2006. The Lab is Government of Assam organization under the Food Safety Department. It is accredited by NABL as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (for detailed list of parameters under accreditation one can contact the Laboratory).

This laboratory is established under state govt. of Assam to examine water, vegetables, food etc.

State public health laboratory is situated at Bamuni maidan,Railway colony; Guwahati. Full fledged state laboratory to serve industries, local bodies, private & government by analysing food, water, vegetables etc . Recently FSSAI new Delhi sanctioned Instrument like GC MS MS, LC MS MS & ICP-MS to make this lab as state of the art laboratory.

People engaged in this establishment are working in poor management, infrastructure and facilities. To achieved results Government need to Improve basic facilities and to boost morality and work culture of the people engaged here.
